Mystical "Orii Blue"

The mystical turquoise color used in the Takaoka Copperware series, known as "Orii Blue" in the traditional crafts of Takaoka, Toyama, is truly captivating. Master artisan Hiroshi Orii ingeniously applied traditional techniques of coloring copper using natural materials such as daikon radish, rice bran, rice vinegar, and sake. This innovation allows for coloring metals less than 0.04in thick, showcasing the artistry of Japanese craftsmanship.
